Position Overview

Sr. Project Manager, Service - Fisk Electric - San Antonio

A Senior Project Manager is the Company’s representative with primary responsibility for profit/loss on any assigned projects. Manages all phases of the project, from preconstruction through close out, and the sustainable growth of the company through our vision and values. Has authority to commit to matters of cost and schedule, in accordance with guidelines, while serving as the Company’s daily point of contact with the Owner or Client on assigned projects. The position proactively develops new business opportunities and relationships with current and potential customers.

Essential Functions and Duties of Position:

  • Enforces Company Safety Policy without exception.

  • Oversees total construction and design effort (if applicable) to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, National Electric Code, budget, and schedule.

  • Ensures the maintenance of all official project documentation and logs.

  • Ensures timely submission and collection of monthly pay requests.

  • Plans and projects staffing needs during both preconstruction and construction.

  • Addresses all change requests (Owner and Subcontractor) promptly and accurately throughout project duration.

  • Ensures accurate, timely procurement of all items necessary for execution of the project plan.

  • Establishes, maintains and updates the project schedule in conjunction with the Superintendent, including milestones and procurement activities.

  • Enforces project quality control per contract documents and guidelines.

  • Actively participates in specific business development pursuits and presentations.

  • Administers operational policies and procedures.

  • Reviews and understands Owner contracts.

  • Develops project bid packages.

  • Prepares and administers all subcontracts and purchase orders.

  • Manages all Owner deliverables during preconstruction and construction.

  • Holds regular meetings with subcontractors and suppliers to resolve cost and schedule issues on a timely basis.

  • Conducts mandatory project planning meetings, monthly job progress meetings, and project closeout meetings.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with customers, design consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on assigned projects.

  • Actively participates in industry-related events, forums, and professional associations to enhance our position and image.

  • Develops, trains and mentors all levels of Project Managers and Superintendents to assume ownership in the delivery process with a business mentality.

  • Communicates and exemplifies the company’s vision and values.

  • Builds positive relationships with employees, owners, design consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Exhibits leadership, professionalism, and effectiveness when fulfilling the responsibilities and duties set forth above.

Education/Experience:

Educational and experience requirements include four (4) year Construction/Engineering Degree or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience, plus extensive, ten (10) or more years, experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance and management required. Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance. Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital; superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential. Proficiency in department’s computer system/software and typing necessary.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. On occasion it may be necessary to lift and carry or manipulate items of 25 lbs., walk over uneven or unpaved ground to reach a worksite in construction zones. This position may be required to perform a variety of construction tasks in all areas and aspects of the construction project – including scaffold or platform work, confined spaces and exposure to outside elements. If your position requires you to enter the field it is mandatory that you wear approved Personal Protective Equipment. This position may be required to work schedules which may include shift work, such as: dayshift, swing-shift, graveyard, holiday and/or weekend shifts. This position may also require occasional travel as necessary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, use hands, operate a computer, and have specific vision abilities to include close and distance vision, and ability to adjust focus working with computer and business equipment.
