Position Overview



The System Operations Manager is responsible for assisting in the oversight, management, and direction of the RealPage Management Operating System for the RMC Affordable portfolio of assets under the direction and supervision of the Sr Director of Compliance.  The Operations Systems Manager is a key member of the Related Management Companies Affordable Operations Team (RMC Affordable) with the responsibility to support the changing business requirements and associated system/process enhancements from conception through delivery. This role works very closely with the RealPage System Administrator within the Related IT department. 

  • Facilitate the daily management of RealPage related issues and projects with a focus on facilitating and managing resolutions provided by RealPage (the Vendor), and/or Related IT RealPage Support group.
  • Assist in creating mass communications for best practices and general training reminders including available RealPage training resources
  • Manage administrative calendaring and meeting agenda creation for RealPage related events/meetings
  • Communicate potential weaknesses in the user knowledge base as it relates to RealPage and help to create solutions
  • Assist in process creation and implementation for internal Related management processes and procedures related to the existing management systems
  • Attend weekly meetings with helpdesk support staff with a focus on analysis, improvements, and standards setting
  • Coordinate the decentralized corporate resources across the national RMC Affordable Operations regions (East, Midwest, West) for RealPage management
  • Address issues with a focus on process standardization through communications and system efficiencies
  • Create and maintain a centralized, cloud-based documents library for training, common issues, and RealPage one-off resolutions
  • Be familiar with and communicate changes in Affordable policy as it relates to required system level documentation and processes
  • Lead in project rollouts to the RMC Affordable portfolio including, but not limited to, communications, strategy creation, and post mortem utilization analysis
  • Facilitate and track all orders for RealPage products from conception to authorization
  • Ensure monthly and annual billings for RealPage products are processed in a timely fashion, coordinating with the RealPage Billing and Related Accounting departments to match the billing rates within the master agreement
  • Take a proactive approach in trying to assess RealPage from user perspective and generate solutions even before the issues are raised by the end-users
  • Assist / support regional staff with questions / requests regarding root cause of issues, and recommend solutions
  • Coordinate meetings with RealPage “Superusers” and regional staff to resolve specific site issues
  • Coordinate and communicate collection of site information required to carry out projects for the business
  • Supervise the monthly fiscal close process to ensure all sites perform required tasks on time
  • Communication to end users for: product issues, core system changes, Initiatives requiring action items from site and fiscal period close
  • Address global issues impacting system with vendor in consultation with the RealPage System Administrator. Communicate resolution and timeline to business users

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of RealPage OneSite affordable application support, implementation and configuration experience
  • Familiarity with affordable housing programs and their compliance requirements, including tax credit and HUD programs
  • Experience with working within a helpdesk / support environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Software documentation and training experience is highly desired
  • Highly organized, with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize demands of third parties
  • Natural ability to take ownership, act with a sense of urgency and accept challenges
