Position Overview


Related is seeking a Regional Facilities Manager to manage multiple functions of building maintenance-related operations for a portfolio of affordable residential buildings throughout the East Coast (Affordable East Portfolio). Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise building improvement/repair projects
  • Perform monthly written site inspections
  • Participate in annual budget estimates
  • Assist in initial interviews of superintendents and other maintenance related roles
  • Emergency Response management (i.e. fire, flooding, etc.)
  • Provide technical training to on-site staff
  • Technical troubleshooting, resolving maintenance issues
  • Ensure properties are within company, State, Local & Agency inspection requirements including fire and safety code compliance 
  • Capital Improvement projects
  • Special projects and other duties as required

*Travel will be reimbursed per mile traveled, as well as, reimbursements for flight accommodations and hotel for overnight travel

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with RealPage OneSite, or other core property management software - ability to create reports and analyze property performance metrics related to work order completion, turnover, and preventive maintenance
  • Excellent management skills
  • Ability to select and oversee the work of consultants and contractors for building repairs and renovations
  • Ability to evaluate problems and provide practical, cost effective solutions
  • Ability to plan, organize and monitor work activities according to priorities, established schedules, deadlines and emergencies
  • Understand and be able to use and interpret construction drawings & specifications, including architectural, MEP & Civil construction manuals
  • Working knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in facility maintenance, supplies & repairs
  • Knowledge of garden, low & high-rise construction, MEP & life safety systems
  • Understand REAC inspection protocols & experience

Working Conditions:

  • Position to be based out of New York
  • Remote home-officing when not traveling 
  • Frequent travel to sites (75% - 95%) throughout East Coast
  • Must be willing to work various schedules
  • Must be accessible to respond to off-hour emergency situations, if necessary 
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for 8 hours a day
