Position Overview


We are hiring a Manager of Subcontractor Diversity, who is a well-connected and active member of national minority contractor organizations.  Construction industry expertise is required.  The ideal candidate will already have a playbook and a proven record of successfully implementing and maintaining a subcontractor diversity program.  This position has a travel requirement of ~50%.  Relocation to Salt Lake City, Utah, is preferred; however, a remote work arrangement may also be considered.  


  • Develop and implement a plan to improve Diversity & Inclusion as it pertains to Subcontractor/Supplier participation in Layton projects. 
  • Assist in identifying/maintaining a network of certified MBE, WBE, DBE firms ("Diversity Firms") that will participate in construction opportunities Layton is pursuing.  
  • Establish Goals and track / maintain measurable data on our Diversity Firms affirmative outreach efforts and Diversity Firms participation in Layton projects to verify our efforts and success.   
  • Assist with substantive additions to Layton website soliciting bids from Diversity Firms and demonstrating Layton's affirmative efforts to involve Diversity Firms in Layton projects.


Ideal Experience:

  • Ten years of Preconstruction/Operations construction experience (both if possible)
  • Ability to assist subcontractors with the submission of competitive and complete bids; ability to help Diversity Firms with project paperwork/technology
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience specific to facilitating Minority Subcontractor Participation in construction projects
  • Capable of presenting to Clients/Subcontractors Layton's vision and the necessary data regarding our affirmative outreach program to involve Diversity Firms in our projects (must have strong interview skills)
  • Ability to travel nationally to facilitate local outreach programs and draw interest in upcoming projects
  • Ability to speak English; Spanish not required but considered a plus
  • Prior work experience with a national construction company not required but considered a plus
