Position Overview

We will be holding open interviews at the following times at our 9020 S Sandy Pkwy. Sandy, UT 84070 address. Please come and interview with us!

Mondays 2-4pm

Tuesdays 8-10am

Summary

This position applies advanced knowledge to perform professional carpentry duties for forming concrete walls, footings and slabs as well as finish carpentry when necessary

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Forms and pours footings and walls.
  2. Installs architectural finishes according to specifications and plans if necessary on job.
  3. Maintains a clean and safe job site.
  4. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  5. Reads blueprints to determine measurements, sizes, locations, types of walls, footings, floors, etc.
  6. Utilizes carpentry math to calculate measurements required to construct facilities.
  7. Applies knowledge of concrete and its properties. (Formsetters)
  8. Applies knowledge of wood and metal finishes. (Finish Carpenters)
  9. Determines elevations and layout through the use of builder levels, transits, lasers, etc.

Qualifications

  1. Performs essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately, and safely with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing threat of harm to self or others.
  2. Handles very heavy work.
  3. Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interprets a variety of complex instructions.
  4. Owns tools required of finish carpenter and/or formsetter position.
  5. Has high school diploma or equivalent.
  6. Understands and conveys English commands, questions and instructions on an eighth-grade level regarding commercial construction.
  7. Is at least 18 years of age.
