Position Overview

Washington DC, San Francisco, CA

DPR Construction is hiring a self-motivated Technology Leader within the Operations Technology Group with a focus on supporting RISQ (Risk, Insurance, Safety, and Quality).  The RISQ Tech Leader will partner with DPR core groups to shape strategy and priorities within RISQ.  The individual will be required to understand business needs to address process and technology gaps, challenges, and improvements.  The individual will be required to work across various business groups to ensure alignment and support of DPR National Strategy and Vision.  The primary responsibilities will be to

Participate in strategic planning with RISQ leadership. Define and lead Technology Projects, including, but not limited to business analysis, research, development, implementation.  RISQ Technology Software Management

The successful candidate should be a creative, out-of-the-box thinker, who will fit with DPR corporate culture. 


  • Leadership
    • Support strategic planning with RISQ Leadership in support of DPR National Goals and Objectives.
    • Aligns RISQ technology priorities and projects with DPR national priorities and projects.
    • Communicate Technology initiatives and progress to RISQ and Company leadership.
  • Project Management
    • Work with RISQ to understand business needs in developing Project Scope, Goals, and Deliverables to address technology gaps, challenges, and process improvements
    • Develop comprehensive project plans that will be shared with project team, stakeholders and sponsors
    • Facilitate necessary integrations with other technologies by working with those technology owners
    • Requirements gathering and documentation for new technology projects
    • Mange project budget, schedule, resources, and performance
    • Communicate with Project Stakeholders and DPR Leadership
    • Track project issues through resolution
    • Conduct productive project meetings, utilizing strong facilitation skills
    • Identify needs from other parties as part of technology rollout and coordinate scope and timing with those groups (other T&I groups, business side groups, external consultants, vendors)
  • Account Management of RISQ Technology Portfolio
  • Work with Integration Managers to drive adoption of technologies across DPR
  • Periodically review and test new technologies to ensure DPR is keeping track of industry trends and technologies that could address DPR workflow problems
  • Understand DPR’s data requirements, and ensure our technologies support those requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of engineering, construction or information systems.
  • At least 10 years of industry experience, preferably with a focus in Construction Risk, Insurance, Safety, and/or Quality.
  • Works out of a DPR office location

Knowledge and Experience

  • Detail-oriented, willing to roll up your sleeves to assist with technology project execution
  • Strong communication skills to communicate updates across our matrix organization
  • High technology aptitude
    • Ability to understand different ways of delivering technology (desktop, cloud, mobile) and the requirements of each
    • Ability to understand business workflows and requirements, and determine the ability of our technology to support those workflows
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the organization’s core business processes and operations.
  • Preferred experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources. 
  • Experience identifying risks associated with the project and creating a mitigation plan
  • Proven experience with Change Management
