DPR Construction is seeking a Regional Supplier Diversity (SD) Manager to plan, coordinate, and promote DPR’s Supplier Diversity objectives.  The Regional Supplier Diversity Manager will foster a culture of inclusion between diverse businesses and DPR Construction. This individual will report directly to the National Supplier Diversity Leader.  This role will work cross-functionally with Sales, Preconstruction, Supply Chain, Operations, Learning & Development to implement and embed DPR’s Supplier Diversity strategy across the region.  The role will partner with business unit leaders, as well as other internal and external partners to support regional supplier diversity programs, projects, events, and activities to ensure alignment with DPR’s strategic goals and mission.  Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Manage regional supplier diversity program activities in alignment with national Supplier Diversity strategy
  • Develop, execute, and communicate comprehensive supplier diversity plans at the regional level for each Business Unit that reflect DPR’s commitment towards best in class people practices that promote a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Assist Regional Leadership teams to establish the DPR Supplier Diversity Program as a differentiator that compels new and existing customers to choose DPR over our competitors.
  • Work with Regional Leadership teams to ensure the highest level of program and service quality.
  • Work closely with Region and Business Units leaders to evaluate current business strategies and operational objectives of the company, make recommendations and serve as a key advisor as it relates to supplier diversity.
  • Monitor metrics and collaborate with key leaders throughout the organization to measure success.
  • Work collaboratively with other Supplier Diversity professionals in the industry to build positive working relationships that can help inform our internal and external business practices.
  • Facilitate and support a Regional Supplier Diversity Council.
  • Attend regional supplier diversity events and activities; including conferences, networking events, trade fairs, as well as key professional associations.
  • Identify key regional and community organizations that advocate for diverse business to gain access to opportunities in the industry.
  • Collaborate with Community Initiatives/Philanthropy on initiatives supporting DPR’s philanthropic vision of “building possibilities for the under-resourced.” Projects may include identifying partner organizations, development of curriculum, workshops, classroom presentations, summer internships for high schoolers, etc.
  • Partner with Learning & Development, to create and implement a Supplier Diversity training curriculum to ensure that DPR employees and partners are knowledgeable about SD principles and the DPR Supplier Diversity program, and that those SD principles are embedded in project-specific best practices.
  • Conduct project team training on supplier diversity program and project-specific supplier diversity plan.
  • Deploy best practices in supplier diversity programs by benchmarking, gaining insight from customers and key vendors, etc.
  • Manage diverse subcontractor, vendor tracking and reporting efforts to internal and external customers.
  • Manage communication plan and process to report regional participation of diverse businesses by customer project, trade, core market, year and business unit.
  • Work closely with Preconstruction and Operations teams to incorporate the Supplier Diversity Program into the bidding and procurement process
  • Ensure that all projects with supplier diversity goals are in full compliance with Customer requirements including, goal achievement, GFE documentation, periodic reporting, general diverse business performance, payment, and closeout.
  • Conduct buyout audit for all bid packages and review contract award recommendations.
  • Provide feedback on project bid packaging, share diverse bidder recommendations, outreach strategies, contract language, and diverse bidding forms.
  • Prepare project-specific supplier diversity plans and with buy-in from project team and Customer
  • Research and analyze the existing supplier base to identify diverse suppliers and measure spend with those suppliers
  • Research market availability of new diverse suppliers within key geographies.
  • Monitor goals and key performance indicators with internal stakeholders and provide regular updates and reporting on performance.
  • Serve as a representative between the diverse supplier community and DPR and provide general assistance as necessary.
  • Manage and support internal and external supplier diversity events.
  • Promote DPR as an industry leader with associations and organizations related to supplier diversity and become an active member.
  • Manage communication plan, including internal and external portals for the Supplier Diversity Program and be responsible for the content and maintenance thereof.
  • Ensure compliance with US Federal government requirements FAR 52.219-8 and 52.219-9 and like requirements of state and local customers.
  • Review and negotiate the supplier diversity and small business subcontracting provisions of contracts with county, state and federal customers.

  • 3+ years of related experience in a similar role with demonstrated success in relevant areas including diversity and community organizing.
  • Experience cultivating a culture of diversity and inclusion through training, education, consultation, coaching and collaboration.
  • Effective participation in team environment. Ability to work with team members at all levels of the organization, partner with and influence team members to enhance inclusive business and operational best practices.
  • Experience in leading Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Supplier Diversity and Supply Chain practices, programs and events.
  • Knowledge of construction and construction procurement best practices and principles, including small and diverse business subcontracting.
  • Self-starter, excellent time management and project management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills that enhance one’s ability to inspire and motivate diverse audiences, including public speaking, customer interviews, and web-based/virtual skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to understand, communicate with and interact effectively with people across different cultures.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, navigate complexities, find common ground and build consensus.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues. Proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills that enhance one’s ability to inspire and motivate diverse audiences
  • Research and analytical skills, including experience in collecting, analyzing, and sharing data.
  • Ability to function well in ambiguous and/or time-sensitive situations
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other analytical tools/software and
  • Ability to travel domestically.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
