Summary of Responsibilities As a Market Leader, you will lead the development process including the identification of potential development sites, development of concepts, budgets, coordinating due diligence, zoning issues, leasing of projects and compilation of all information in association with the Market Development.   You will also be responsible for growing their brand presence in the Charlotte market. Essential Job Functions
  • Lead and manage development personnel including directing, mentoring and managing their career development.
  • Responsible for identifying, acquiring, developing, maintaining, and disposing of land holdings consistent with financial goals.
  • Responsible for the initial development of single and multi-tenant leased building projects consistent with financial goals .
  • Responsible for developing and monitoring development and land operating budgets.
  • Assisting in acquisition of acquiring necessary initial debt and equity for all development projects.
  • Contribute to, implement and monitor the progress of the corporate strategic plan for the Charlotte Market.
  • Responsible for the assistance to other departments in selling their services to prospective clients.
  • Responsible to establish and maintain relationships with brokerage and governmental contacts.
Position Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Proficient skill to analyze data and make recommendations to a diverse audience, both internally and externally
  • Aptitude to use critical thinking to solve complex problems and address them directly and timely
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; communicate professionally with external partners, including planning commissions/other government bodies, as well as internal teams of executives and colleagues
  • Familiarity with principles of real estate finance and real estate financial models
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, seminars, reading professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial real estate experience in development, finance or civil engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Business, Finance, Civil Engineering, Law or Planning required
  • MBA and/or JD preferred
  • Proven leadership and management skills: creative, organized, systems-oriented and people-skilled.
  • Familiarity with principles of real estate finance and real estate financial models
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations
  • Ability to use critical thinking to solve complex problems
  • Ability to communicate professionally with others, including planning commissions/other government bodies
Physical Demands Moderate physical effort required to sit, stand at files, bend, stoop, lift, walk and climb.  Maximum unassisted lift is 70 lbs.  Average lift is less than 10 lbs.  Requires ability to use a keyboard and monitor.  Also requires the ability to communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone.  Requires moderate in town travel to sites and meetings. Overnight travel is infrequent. Environmental Requirements Moderate to extreme outdoor conditions. Above average noise levels. Protective equipment is required while visiting job sites. Average inside office environment. Average office noise levels. No personal protective equipment is required while in the office.
